Ten Tips For Network Marketing Success

1. Set tangible goals. Short term, mid term and long term goals. You can't hit targets you can't see. The fastest way to fail in any endeavor is failing to plan.

2. Be visionary. The methods that are effective in MLM are ever changing. Be flexible and visionary. Be willing to try new techniques and technologies.

3. Be passionate about you do. Passion is infectious, not only for your team mates, but for your prospects as well. People want to follow leaders who are passionate about what they do.

4. Maintain a positive mental attitude. Your earning Potential and Network Marketing Success depends on your mental attitude. You often get what you focus on. If you think you can't do it, you're right. So stay focused and positive.

5. Be a Team Player. Network Marketing is unlike your regular job. Lose your job mentality. Work closely with your up-line and down lines to ensure your success. Because quite often, your success is their success and vice-versa.

6. Take Constant Action toward your goals. Momentum is important in MLM and it is harder to build your business if momentum stalls.

7. Find a Mentor. Don't recreate the wheel. throughout the ages, successful people have had mentors. It is no different in network marketing.

8. Act with a sense of urgency. This is perhaps one of the most important qualities in this list. Successful people realize that they must not only take action consistently, but also with a sense of urgency. In order to be successful in network Marketing, you must have a sense of urgency in your actions. Next week is too late, it needs to be done now. If you don't feel like your doing enough in your MLM business, then your probably not.

9. Get out of your own way. Most people fail to succeed because they can't get out of their own ways. What this means is that they are more afraid of change than they are of remaining in the situation they are in now. Face your fears and get out of your own way, It will make all the difference.

10. Invest in yourself. Plug into your team trainings. Attend all functions you qualify for if your upline is providing you training at a fair cost. (If your upline is making large profits from training their own group, a red flag should go up. Come on people, it cost less than $1.00 to make a CD)

In short, your network marketing success ultimately depends on you. You can't just join a company, do nothing and expect to become rich.
You are responsible for your success. Take advantage of these examples to help you succeed in network marketing.

Have a great and healthy day!

Are Network Marketers Their Own Worst Enemies?

The home-based business and direct selling industries are growing fast. There is so much opportunity for so many people to acquire new skills, time, and even financial freedom. The problem is that we network marketers are our own worst enemies - we tend to bad mouth other companies and their representatives.

When working toward a common goal, everyone else circles their wagons and fire outward, but most network marketers circle their wagons and fire inward.

This in no way raises our image among the general public. If anything, it makes us all look like starving vultures.

We also need to stop trying to recruit everyone that crosses our path. It's okay to tell everyone what you do and if they want to know more, tell them. If they don't want to know more, build a relationship with them anyway.

When you go into a car dealership, they try to sell you a car, NOT try convincing you to open your own dealership, right?

I also would like to see a virtual chamber of commerce for network marketers where they can meet other network marketers selling everything from A to Z. Over time - after getting to know, like, and trust one another, members will be able to refer customers to each other, without the fear of the people they send being pitched to be recruited.

Another thing is that there are too many company “TEAM leaders” putting too much emphasis on books, CD's, and seminars (also known as tools). There is a place for training, positive thinking, association, and motivation. However, if a “TEAM leader” makes a large percentage of their income from the sale of tools be careful, they're in a different business than you are.

If your business is so good, why do you have to charge me $5.00 for a CD of the week program? You could have it downloadable from the website you're already charging me $20.00 a month for.

We should all commit to learning business and communication skills (including active listening) in order to be successful, but we shouldn't have to spend (I know they'll tell you it's investing) every dime we make and then some for years and still not make money. If it is investing, is it too much to ask for a return on that investment? Very rarely does someone actually lose money in “network marketing.” The vast majority of the horror stories I've heard have been directly related to an upline putting tool profits ahead of helping the very people they're supposed to help make money.

Learning how to network is very, very important. Networking includes seeing opportunities for others and yourself, relationship building, and follow-up skills. These skills can be taught (without ripping people off), and indeed must be taught to network marketers if our profession is to be taken seriously.

Network Marketing is About Building Relationships

In your network marketing business, how many times have you spoken to leads and they seem extremely interested, but then something happens and, poof, they are gone? Yes, they vanish into thin air! You call. You leave a message, and then another and another, but to no avail. You start asking yourself, “What did I do wrong? What should I have said, or what didn’t I say?” Maybe stuff came up in that individual’s life and/or the timing just wasn’t there. Don’t take it personally. Life does happen and timing is everything! What you do need to take personally when prospecting is your relationship with individuals. I believe one of the keys to successful MLM prospecting is spending time to build a relationship with your leads.

When you are visiting with prospects, get to know them. Ask questions and really find out their story. Remember, make it about them, not you! It will help you stand out from others they may be speaking with about MLM opportunities. When you find out a person’s wants, needs, and his/her ultimate why, you can then show how your business can help fulfill that individual’s needs. You can provide value. Spending time to build a relationship with your MLM leads will go a long way.

One of the best ways to build a relationship with prospects is to ask them questions about themselves. Be understanding, responsive, and sincerely concerned.

Here are some questions you might ask:

What are you looking for in a business?
Why are you searching for a home business? (This is one of the most important questions you can ask.)
How long have you been searching?
What do you do now? Do you enjoy it?
Have you tried other businesses before? If so, what was your experience?
Do you have a family? Tell me a little bit more about your children?
How many hours per week are you willing to devote to your new business?
What are you looking for in a coach and a mentor?

Let prospects know what they can expect from you as a sponsor. Assure them they won’t be left alone when they join your team.

I can’t emphasize follow up enough. You must follow up—always! Follow up with an auto responder, an occasional email, postcard, or a phone call. When following up, set a date and a time to do so. For example I ask prospects, “When will you be able to look at the information I’m sending you? Great. Since you will be able to look at it tomorrow afternoon, is it okay to call you tomorrow evening around 7 p.m.?” Confirm a date and time and then move forward.
In your prospecting endeavors, it’s important to remember to have patience and not be overbearing if you want to build a relationship. Have you ever had someone call you day and night practically begging you to join their business? And, did you just want to run in the other direction? Don’t be that person. Allow your prospects some space and time to consider their decision and ask questions.

The bottom line is building relationships and a successful network marketing team is a process that takes time. So, be patient. Continue to invest in yourself; hone your skills; commit to daily, consistent prospecting steps; and most important, diligently build relationships with your prospects. If you follow these guidelines, you will be glad you did.

The 7 Motivation Factors

The question is always asked; “How do I get people to join my network marketing business?” The answer is quite simple - Establish trust with them. We need to get into the prospects mind, and to do this, we need to fully understand why people join network marketing.
We all remember the day we started, and saw that presentation of that ideal opportunity, and we had our reason to join network marketing. That was simple for us, but to discover your prospects reason, which probably is not the same as yours is a bit more difficult. Our reason of getting involved may seem a good reason for someone else to get involved, but all too often, this is where network marketers fail.

The most important part in sponsoring a new member into your network marketing business is the follow up. If we can move people, they are more likely to join us. If we can discover why people join network marketing, discover your prospects reason, their why, they will be more likely to join you, and more likely to stay.

Let’s first go over the top seven reasons of why people join network marketing.

1) Extra Income. There are a lot of people today living pay check to pay check due to the rising costs of food, fuel, and housing. Many people are just looking for a few extra dollars a month, so the money stops running out before the month does.

2) Financial Freedom. This is a big reason that people are looking towards network marketing. Many presentations out there focus directly on this reason, but this certainly is not the only reason. If you only focus on this reason during your follow up with a prospect, you will lose more than half your prospects, as this may not be their reason.

3) More Time. You may be talking to a big income earner that is putting in 70 - 80 hour work weeks, that does not have time for family and friends. These people are not looking for more money, they are happy with their current income level, they just need more time with their spouse, kids and friends. They need time to travel, and enjoy life.

4) Retirement. This is a big one. There are so many baby boomers out there that now realize that they have not adequately planned for their retirement. Currently their income is sufficient, but they realize at the age of 60 - 65 they will not have the income coming in to support the lifestyle they are currently living. They are looking for the “Plan B”

5) Helping Others. This is a unique person. They are more interested in helping others achieve their dreams, than helping themselves. Everyone needs one of these people in their network marketing business. Some have already achieved financial success, and just are looking for a vehicle to share with others and help others achieve theirs

6) Leaving a Legacy. Some people out there are looking to set up a legacy for their family. With many good network marketing opportunities out there, this is possible.

7) Owning Their Own Business. There are some people that hate working for another man or woman. They would settle for half their income, if they could be their own boss.

Now, it's your job to study and learn these reasons of why people join network marketing. These 7 reasons above will cover 98% of your prospects why. You can call these the 7 motivation factors in people lives.

When you are doing a follow up with your prospect, after they have seen your presentation, it is your duty to ask them, what their motivation factor is. They don’t care about yours; you do not even need to tell them what your reason is. The follow up needs to be about them.

Again I reiterate that the follow up must be about them. After you discover their reason for joining network marketing, tell them yes, you can help them achieve this, and start expanding on it. After they join you, and many will, talk about their reason every time you speak to them and keep it in front of them always. Following this simple technique on why people join network marketing and it can vastly increase your sponsoring rate and retention rate.

Millionaires to Be Made in Network Marketing During Poor Economy

How's that for a change of pace, some good news? More good news, you and I can be one of the new millionaires. It seems that after hearing the possibility of the collapse of the Big 3 we should want to climb under a rock and hide. But, I don't need to... I have a Plan B, something so solid that I will be one of the next millionaires.

We are officially in a recession and it is a bad one. Many families are exploring options on how to make additional household income. Making it through tough times means diversifying your income sources and a poor economy tends to force us to take a look at income avenues we never considered before. Great advice: Network Marketing is a real source for fast income.

The Network Marketing Industry has been around for a long time and it has proven not only to remain stable during recessionary times, but it actually thrives. The growth in this industry during a poor economy is explained by the amount of people needing additional income and turning to it for the answer. Network Marketing is recession proof, making it a real source for a substantial income. The opportunity in networking is two fold, the first is obvious... if chosen carefully your new business will begin generating income as early as next week. Second, by starting a home based business you will now enjoy much needed tax breaks.

As you have probably guessed I am a Network Marketer. I went full time in this field in December of 1999. Since then the economy has declined drastically but, my business has grown substantially. People that I had spoken with 2 years ago that thought networking was "taboo" are now saying yes. Professionals and high caliber people lay down to the idea. What changed... not network marketing, just the way people viewed their income opportunities and this one makes sense. That is the reason new millionaires will be made during this recession... because people are looking to Network marketing where there is a huge income potential.

Caution: When choosing which networking company to go with please do not just jump on the first one you come across. There are over 10,000 of them as we speak. Only 2% of these companies have The 5 Key Essentials necessary for you to succeed. Please feel free to contact me for help on how to choose the right network marketing company for you.

I'll be talking about The 5 Key Essentials in my next post.

Do you consider yourself a confident, professional presenter?

In MLM, this is what you need to be in order to consistently capture your prospect’s interest to get people to join your business or to sell product. What do you need to do to get yourself to that level? It isn’t that difficult. Keep reading for tips to help you get there.
I recently read a MLM training article, It discussed how to present to your prospect without being too shy or too pushy. This article was all about communicating easily; which has to do with you being a sharp presenter, and presenting your MLM business with professionalism.
Not winging it; but also not sounding rehearsed. No fumbling over your words. No being out of breath because you’re scared (relax). No apologizing for being scared. Simply put, being a confident and professional presenter who delivers good content effectively. Sound hard to do? It’s not.
Unfortunately, too many people in the MLM industry don’t take the time to learn a few simple concepts. In presenting, right or wrong, your prospect will judge you, the business and the MLM industry based on how you present. Is it any wonder that the industry has a public relations black eye? Too many presenters in MLM don't practice and wing it.
Here’s a list of things you need to be aware of that will cause your prospect to pay attention to you and truly learn from you:
1. Vary The Speed Of Your Speech
2. Vary Your Voice Tone And Volume
3. Create Strategic Pauses
4. Be Easily Heard
5. Make Frequent Eye Contact
6. And most of all practice, practice, practice

Ty Tribbles 12 point Manifesto

Ty Tribbles 12 point Manifesto about the Network Marketing industry.

You see, I believe that if we change the way we do business as Network Marketers, we will change the perception of the Network Marketing industry. Your feedback is appreciated!

1. Offer a good product at a fair price.
2. Teaching a downline associate how to build their business should not be your main profit center.
3. A leader does not allow his/her followers to lose money for an extended period.
4. It shouldn't take 16 pages of a compensation plan PDF to explain how to make money.
5. Stop hounding people.
6. Cultivate a positive attitude toward others and their accomplishments.
7. Model and encourage a balanced life of good work and rest.
8. Communicate honestly and truthfully.
9. Be fair and just in financial matters.
10. Create an environment free of harassment.
11. Do not rely on friends, family or neighbors for sales.
12. Don't let your values slide to make a sale.

Do you have any points you think should be added to the list? Respond back and let me know.

The Eight Step Pattern for Success

The Eight Step Pattern for Success has been implemented by countless people around the world. It is easy to learn, easy to use, and most importantly it is easy to duplicate.

Step 1) Define your Dream
If you don't have a compelling 'reason why' to build your business, it is almost certain that you will not succeed. Your dream is the cornerstone of your new future so take the time to define what really matters to you most! What is your picture of success? If time and money were no object to attaining your perfect life, what would you do? Where do you want to be in the next 2-5 years? What excites you? Who would you like to help? What do you want to achieve? When do want to achieve it?

Step 2) The Commitment
Your level of commitment will be determined by the amount and the type of activities you engage in. Are you willing to listen to audio trainings, to read positive books, and attend training events that will teach and inspire you? Are you willing to purchase and promote products that will help you to create residual income? Are you a team player, ready to do whatever it takes to move the team forward?

Step 3) The List
Compiling a strong resource list and helping others to compile their lists is a critical step in the building process. Include names of family members, friends, work associates, acquaintances, etc. Unless they are someone you don't feel comfortable having on your team, put every name on your list.

Step 4) The Contact
Contacting a potential candidate from your names list is usually done by telephone. It is best to practice a script. Be sure to have a script in front of you when you make your calls.
Making a 'cold contact' (someone you don't know) is usually done face-to-face, often on the spur of the moment. You will need to have Professional-looking business cards on hand at all times.

Step 5) Interview and Show Your Business Plan
Keep it simple and be relatable. The purpose of the 'Interview' is to determine the level of a candidate's interest, and to help you decide whether you feel they will be an asset to your team. The number of interviews you and your team members conduct with qualified applicants is critical to your level of success.

Step 6) Follow Up and Follow Through
It is important to follow up with a brand new Business Builder within 48 hours of the General Overview. Answer their questions using the Feel, Felt, Found method - 'I know how you feel, I felt the same way, but this is what I found...'

Step 7) Coach and Strategize
One of the most important elements in successful team building is to consistently spend time with your Team leaders, so that they can coach you on what to do next and develop a strategy for you to reach your goals. They will help you to fine-tune your business building techniques and prepare to take on the leadership role with your team. Not only will you benefit from their wisdom and expertise, but you will also create a life-long relationship!

Step 8) Rotate the Pattern
Rotating (duplicating) the pattern is the key to success in this type of business - Learn, Do, and Teach the proven principles to other Business Builders on your team, so that they can Learn, Do and Teach the principles to their team members.

Have a great and healthy day!
